There’s no better time to visit London than in the run up to Christmas but with so many sights to see and events to get involved in, it can be hard to decide which Christmas activity is worth your while! Here at Biscuiteers, Christmas is our favourite time of year and as we consider London our home we thought we’d share our top 10 Christmas activities in London to help you make the most of the big city this festive season.
1. Biscuiteers Christmas School of Icing
An alternative to more traditional Christmas crafting, Biscuiteers are hosting a variety of festive themed School of Icing events this November and December. Located in Notting Hill and Belgravia, these two hour sessions, hosted by our Icing Experts, are designed to teach you all of the techniques we use in the Grand Hall of Icing at the Ministry of Biscuits, London. You’ll learn the secret to creating some of our most iconic Christmas biscuit designs, including the art of flood and line icing, feathering and piping.
At the end of the workshop you’ll have a beautiful tin of biscuits to take home, plus 10% off any Christmas shopping you do in store after your class.
2. London Christmas Lights Bus Tour
London is famous for its Christmas light displays but rather than navigating through the hustle and bustle of busy city shoppers, why not jump on a London Lights by Night open-top bus tour to take in the twinkling town?
The ultimate Christmas experience, see London's landmarks by night as you drive through Regent Street, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus and more. You’ll get a front row seat to some of London's most famous window displays (keep an eye out for our biscuits in Selfridges store front!) and Christmas lights whilst an expert guide keeps you well informed with tales and tidbits of notable spots along the route.
3. Natural History Museum Festive Exhibition
The Natural History Museum is a brilliant place to visit all year round but this Christmas they have a whole host of exciting Christmas events too, from their Christmas at the Museum event on Friday 22nd December, to their Ring in 2024 event on New Years Eve.
One exhibition we’re particularly big fans of (emphasis on the big) is their festive animatronic T-Rex kitted out in a rather fetching knitted jumper and Santa hat. You can get up close, personal AND coordinate your outfit with this prehistoric giant, as the museum has human-sized matching jumpers on offer in their gift shop. Alongside their jumpers made of 100% recycled materials, you can also purchase matching beanies, socks, scarfs and a Christmas T-Rex biscuit hand-iced by Biscuiteers!
4. Biscuiteers Festive Afternoon Tea
A twist on our quintessentially British afternoon tea, our Biscuiteers Boutiques and Icing Cafes have a Christmas Afternoon Tea with a twist on offer this month. A celebration of the winter season, our Festive Afternoon Tea perfectly perfectly pairs a host of tea-time treats with our iconic biscuits, hand-iced right here in London. And here is the twist, you can ice your own biscuit creations whilst sipping on something sparkling when you add on a DIY icing experience to your booking.
5. Wreath Making at Liberty London
Located in the heart of London is Liberty, where you can break up a busy day of Christmas shopping with a wreath making class hosted by fellow British brand and florist, Wild at Heart.
You’ll be greeted with a welcome drink and led by a head florist who will teach you the skills you need to design and create your own Christmas wreath ready to don your front door with. You’ll be working with the highest quality materials and be provided with all the decorative trimmings you could ask for. What better way to kick off the festive season?!
6. Ice Skating at Battersea Power Station
London’s only riverside ice rink has opened at Battersea Power Station once again in 2023 and it is a must see Christmas activity on the south of the river.
Welcoming ice skaters of all levels, the ice rink features a 30ft Christmas tree as its centrepiece, perfect for snapping your festive photos next to, and has a selection of live entertainment and fabulous food and drink venues to enjoy once you're off the ice.
We might be biased but one of our favourite vendors is Nespresso, where you can perfectly pair a hot cup of coffee with an Après Ski themed hand-iced biscuit by Biscuiteers - delicious!
7. Watch a West End show

Not your usual Peter Pan Christmas pantomime, Peter Pan Goes Wrong, created by the same minds behind The Play That Goes Wrong, is a brilliant Christmas watch with plenty of mischief and misadventure. Located on London's West End, the show is a must see alternative to more traditional Christmas theatre offerings and is reasonably priced too!
8. Warner Bros Studio Tour

We love the Wizarding World here at the Ministry of Biscuits, so much so we’ve even made a few Harry Potter Biscuits in our time, that’s why visiting Hogwarts in the Snow is certainly on our hit list this Christmas this year.
The Warner Bros Studio Tour has had a magical makeover this Winter. Take in the Harry Potter film sets as they looked for famous festive scenes and get a behind the scenes look at the studios special-effects, props and costumes.
9. Visit the floating cinema on St Katharine Docks

Set sail on an evening of classic Christmas movies at St Katharine Docks Floating Film Festival. Wrap up warm and settle in on the St Katharine Docks pontoon to enjoy festive favourites like Bridget Jones Diary, Home Alone and The Holiday. Along with the film of your choice you can enjoy a variety of festive refreshments and take in the stunning scenery around you complete with twinkling lights, charming boats and glowing Christmas tree. Bookings are open between the 4th and 10th December so don't delay!
10. Christmas cocktail making at Harvey Nichols
Learn how to make your favourite tipples at Harvey Nichols cocktail masterclass in Knightsbridge. Available to book for groups or as a private session, this jam packed day starts with a delicious breakfast followed by a tutorial led by experts talking you through three themed cocktails. Once you’ve learnt the hows, whys and whens, you’ll partner up and make your own tasty tipples and finish off the day with a well deserved two-course lunch.
