Our top 10 moments from the past 10 years! - Biscuiteers

HOORAY! This month we’re celebrating a very special birthday because we’re turning 10! Yes, we can’t quite believe it but that’s 10 whole years of thoughtful gifting which we’re very excited to celebrate. We've come a long way since September 2007 when we started baking, icing and delivering our very first biscuit collections. We launched with a handful of designs for important gifting moments, as well as a few favourites which are still around today. These include our Wedding bells collection and Tea for two collection which we’ve redesigned many times over the past 10 years. To kick off the celebrations we're looking back at our top 10 moments!

2007: Launching into Selfridges
Within 3 months of launching we partnered with the prestigious Selfridges Food Hall, where our biscuits are still stocked today. We’ve worked with a number of fabulous partners since, and you’ll currently find us at The View From The Shard, Kew Gardens and The Savoy. Here you can purchase bespoke designs made exclusively for each location.
2010: Biscuiteers Book of Iced Biscuits published
2010 was a special year because we released our first book, the Biscuiteers Book of Iced Biscuits! It was jam-packed with easy to follow icing tutorials and tips on how to bake, roll and cut your own biscuits. It was such a hit that we released a second edition in 2012, which has since been translated into a number of languages and published all around the world.
2012: Notting Hill Icing Café opens
In 2012 we opened our Notting Hill Icing Café, which is famous for its illustrated façade and has become something of an Instagram sensation! Two years later we opened our second Icing Café on Northcote Road in Battersea. Both Icing Cafés are home to our School of Icing, where we teach people how to ice their own biscuits. You can also pop along for DIY drop in icing and Afternoon Tea.
2014: Beatrix Potter collection introduced
Back in 2014 we introduced our beautiful and award winning Beatrix Potter collection, which is still one of our favourites! You can read all about how we created it in this special behind the scenes blog post. Last year we celebrated Beatrix Potter's 150th Anniversary with a brand new Peter Rabbit biscuit card, celebrations in our Icing Cafés and competitions too. Our full range of licensed biscuits include the Mr Men and Little Miss collection, Superheroes collection, and The Snowman collection.
2014: Winning the Investec Food & Drink Entrepreneur Award
In 2014 we were also thrilled to win Investec’s Food and Drink Entrepreneur of the year award! Our founder, Harriet, attended the awards ceremony at The Houses of Parliament where she was presented with the prize. We couldn’t have been happier to have been recognised for our innovative biscuit brand.

2015: Relaunching our Fashionista collection with Alice Naylor-Leyland
In 2015 we collaborated with style muse and It girl Alice Naylor-Leyland to relaunch our Fashionista collection which was particularly exciting as we've always had a close affiliation with fashion brands. To celebrate we hosted a glamorous party in our Notting Hill Icing Café, with guests including Marissa Hermer, Charlotte Dellal and even Princess Beatrice! You can read all about the swanky event here.
2015: Raising £40,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity
We've supported Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity since 2009, and have now raised over £40,000! A donation is made every time someone orders from our dedicated Great Ormond Street range, which includes our Safari and Woodland collections. You can also make a £1 donation at the checkout. Thank you to everyone who's donated so far!
2015: Collaborating with National Portrait Gallery and Vogue: A Century of Style
In autumn 2015 the National Portrait Gallery approached us with a very exciting project. They asked us to collaborate with them on an exclusive collection to mark 100 years of Vogue Magazine, available to purchase at The Gallery Shop, alongside the Vogue: A Century of Style exhibition. We jumped at the chance, and the collection was available for the duration of the 2016 exhibition. You can read all about the partnership here!
2016: Successful crowdfunding campaign
October 2016 was one of the most exciting and rewarding months at Biscuiteers, as we ran our first ever crowdfunding campaign which raised a phenomenal £1,245,660! This gave everyone the opportunity to invest in Biscuiteers from as little as £10. It was amazing to see the response from our customers, and to include all of our investors on the rest of our biscuit journey.
2016: Recreating Waddesdon Manor in biscuit
We've done a number of incredible biscuit structures and grand designs over the years, including a London cityscape for Selfridges, a giant gingerbread house for Charlotte Olympia and a traditional gingerbread castle for Leeds Castle, but we really outdid ourselves last Christmas! Our talented icers Lorena and Serena handmade a gingerbread recreation of Waddesdon Manor, which took 500 hours and used more than 30kg of butter and sugar, 240 eggs and 216kg of icing. It was featured by the BBC, The Guardian, The Times, Good Housekeeping and Daily Mail!
We hope you've enjoyed looking back at the past 10 years with us! It's been an incredibly exciting journey, and we'd like to say thank you to everyone who we have worked with, all of our team members and of course our wonderful customers. Here's to another 10!
