As biscuit connoisseurs, we love to share our favourite recipes with you. Today we give you the bourbon biscuit, which could be defined as the biscuit of British childhood. We've updated this chocolate-y classic to include a delicious rich chocolate buttercream, we think it might almost be too good to dunk into a big glass of cold milk! To recreate our take on the classic, just follow these simple steps…
ingredients
- - For the biscuits:
- - 1 quantity of our chocolate biscuits (see recipe below)
- - For the chocolate buttercream:
- - 100g butter
- - 200g icing sugar
- - 1-2 dessert spoons of sieved cocoa powder
- - For the icing:
- - basic royal line icing and ‘donkey brown’ colour paste (see instructions below)

How to make:
- Hand cut or use a rectangular cutter to make 24 super chocolately biscuits.
- Use the prongs on a fork to spike little lines of dots all down the biscuits.
- Cook for 15-25 minutes depending on the size of your biscuits at 170°C, leave at least 15 minutes to cool before icing.
- Then pipe the name on to the biscuits with the line icing.
- Sandwich the biscuits together with a big squidge of chocolate butter cream.
