Here at Biscuiteers, we've always had a close affinity with fashion brands by way of our seasonal biscuit collections. So when Christian Dior requested bespoke biscuits for their Dior Cruise 2017 show, we rose to the challenge of creating 'couture' treats to reflect the brand's stylish heritage.
As always the project began by discussing the client's needs, and how we would be able to help. The Dior team wanted to emulate their classic 'codes' - symbols which represent the femininity, glamour and style of the iconic fashion house. After careful consideration, they selected a delicate Lily of the Valley blossom, the classic Bar jacket and the Christian Dior monogram medallion in beautiful pastel colours.
Images of the designs were sent to us and Lucy, our head designer, created the initial samples. Once these had been sent to Paris and approved, it was time to begin production of over 1,000 hand-iced Dior biscuits in our London bakery!
To give their biscuits an extra-special touch, Dior also created their own bespoke packaging. The watercolour design was illustrated to match the quintessentially British theme of their #DiorCruise extravaganza. We absolutely loved the boxes here at Biscuiteers HQ.
During the last week of May, 350 beautifully bespoke boxes of Christian Dior biscuits were received by top guests and members of the press at two of London's most exclusive hotels. Guests including Emma Roberts, Eva Herzigova, and Alexa Chung were then treated to a whirlwind weekend of pop-up pubs, customised taxis and steam trains and finally the fashion show itself at historic Blenheim Palace, more than 60 years after the designer's first showcase there.
