How to ice Peter Rabbit biscuits

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Beatrix Potter we're teaching you how to ice Peter Rabbit biscuits. We've launched an extra-special Peter Rabbit biscuit card which has been created especially to celebrate Beatrix Potter's 150th Anniversary year. Modelled on a newly discovered illustration of Peter Rabbit, it's the perfect present for new babies, and special birthdays!

Time to get baking…

1. Start by baking the vanilla biscuits, these are super easy to make using our vanilla dough recipe which includes a handy guide for rolling and cutting your dough. We create our own handmade cutters but you can easily make your own by creating a paper template and cutting around the dough. Once your vanilla biscuits are out of the oven and have cooled down, it's time to ice.

2. Mix black, light brown, cream, brown, white and baby blue for your line icing and baby blue, light brown and cream for your flood icing. Modelled on a newly discovered illustration of Peter Rabbit, it's the perfect present for new babies, and special birthdays!

3. Carefully ice the outline of the head of Peter Rabbit using the light brown icing, followed by his jacket in baby blue icing and the rest of his body in the light brown line icing again.

4. Let the line icing dry for 10 minutes at room temperature, then fill each of your sections with your flood colours.

5. Set your oven at the lowest temperature and put the biscuits into the oven for 30-40 mins minutes to dry.

6. Take the biscuits out of the oven and let them cool completely. You can add on the detail using the rest of your line icing, not forgetting his whiskers, fur and his very cute button nose! Use the images above as a guide.
