Christmas just wouldn't be complete without delicious home-made, hand-decorated biscuits. Baking and decorating biscuits at Christmas-time is the perfect festive family activity, and with our simple to follow, step-by-step guide you can now create your very own Christmas Biscuit Wreath. Instructions Firstly you will need to follow our recipe for all spice biscuits to create your base biscuit dough. Split your dough in to two equal amounts. Take one portion of your dough and place it between two sheets of grease proof paper, then flatten the dough into a disc using your hands. Using a rolling pin roll the dough out to an even thickness. Remove the top layer of grease proof paper. Take your biscuit cutter (if you do not have an appropriate cutter you can use a paper template and carefully cut around it with a sharp knife) and cut out your snowflake shapes. TOP TIP - to avoid your cutter sticking to your dough, you can coat the cutter in flour. ![]()

How to make: A Christmas Biscuit Wreath

- Using a pallet knife transfer your cut shapes to a lined baking tray and bake according to instructions.
- Take your second portion of dough and place it between two sheets of grease proof paper, then flatten the dough into a disc using your hands.
- Using a rolling pin roll the dough out to an even thickness.
- Remove the top layer of grease proof paper.
- At this point you want to cut out the base of your biscuit wreath. Using a circular paper template (our template was 30cm in diameter and 1 inch in width) cut out a large circular shape and then cut out its middle to create a large biscuit ring.
- Lift the bottom layer of grease proof paper with the biscuit dough ring on and transfer it to a baking tray - bake according to instructions.
- Once your snowflakes and large ring have been baked and cooled you can now decorate them and assemble your wreath!

- We decided to decorate our biscuits with with icy, wintry colours - white, light blue and metallic blue. However you could ice yours with more traditional colours like red, gold and green if you wanted - be as creative as you like!
Top Tip
To avoid your cutter sticking to your dough, you can coat the cutter in flour!

- Once your biscuits have all been decorated and are completely dry you can then assemble your wreath.
- Pipe a small amount of royal icing onto the back of each snowflake biscuit and arrange them on your biscuit ring. We attached our larger snowflakes first and then filled in the gaps with the smaller ones.
- Once all your biscuit snowflakes are attached and you are happy with the arrangement - leave your wreath to dry for at least an hour.
- The final touch - take a piece of thick ribbon and loop it through the middle of your wreath, tying it in a bow at the top.
