How to ice flower biscuits

Why send mum flowers this Mother’s Day when you can send her our beautiful Bouquet Biscuit Tin instead? Our new Mother's Day collection is inspired by wild flowers in spring time, plus it’s the most delicious Mother’s Day gift in town. So whilst you're waiting for your Mother's Day order to arrive with mum why not have a go at making a few biscuits from the collection? Follow our easy guide to see how we ice these floral biscuits.
For this recipe you will need to bake a batch of our vanilla biscuits, for the flower biscuits you can just use a simple circle cutter. Then make up a batch of some of our flood and line icing. You'll need light purple, yellow and brown line icing and light purple, yellow, hot pink and purple flood icing. How to ice pansy biscuits:
Step 1: Draw the outline of your pansy biscuits using a purple line icing, use the image above as a rough guide. This outer line on the biscuits creates the 'walls' so that your flood icing won’t escape. Let the line icing dry for around 10 minutes.
Step two: Fill your biscuits with purple flood icing around the edge of your biscuits. Then randomly place and fill the rest of the biscuit with light purple, yellow and hot pink. Using a cocktail stick drag the coloured icing into each other. You can follow our icing techniques blog post for more information on the feathering technique. Step three: Carefully place your iced biscuits onto a baking tray and then into an oven that has been set to the lowest temperature (usually around 50°C), leave them for approximately 40 minutes or until the flood icing has set hard.
Step four: Once your biscuits are dry take your purple line icing and pipe around the outside of your biscuit edge to create petals. Then use your yellow line icing to create the middle of your flower. Step five: Leave to dry at room temperature for around 10-15 minutes. How to ice sunflower biscuits:
Step 1: Draw the outline of your sunflower biscuits using a yellow line icing, use the image above as a rough guide. You'll need to make one small circle in the centre and a sun shape around the edges. Let the line icing dry for around 10 minutes. Step two: Fill your biscuits with yellow flood icing. Then pop them into an oven that has been set to the lowest temperature (usually around 50°C), leave them to dry in there for approximately 40 minutes or until the flood icing has set hard.
Step four: Using your yellow line icing, pipe small petals, see the image above as a guideline.
Step four: Take your brown line icing and pipe small dots in the middle of your biscuit to create the seeds in the middle of your flower.
