First stop for Cherry was a catch up with our Head of Production, Caroline, at our biscuit bakery. Cherry and Caroline mixed, rolled and cut out the dough for 1500 Jolly Gingers which included 40 packs of butter, 10 kilos of caster sugar, 100 eggs, 40 kilos of plain flour and our secret all-spice mix featuring, of course, ginger! After seeing how our biscuits are made and cut mostly by hand, Cherry and Caroline put a rack of Jolly Gingers into the oven to bake before sending them over to our Grand Icing Hall.
At the Grand Icing Hall, Cherry was met by Head Icer Lucy who showed her how we mix the magical colours for the Biscuiteers icing which is so iconic. After marvelling at the bowls of colourful icing, Lucy showed Cherry some basic icing principles for creating our Jolly Ginger designs before they tackled their own Santa Jolly Gingers. There were definitely a few giggles between Lucy and Cherry as they iced their Santas, with Cherry trying to get the hang of holding the icing bag whilst creating the intricate design! Our talented icers are mostly from creative and fine art background and Cherry gave credit to their skills as she tackled her own Jolly Ginger. Every biscuit we make is iced by hand and created from hours of craftmanship from our talented team!
