What’s in our Fruit cake?
Fruit cake: 62% mixed fruit (vine fruits, dates, figs, cranberries,
apricots (E220), glacé cherries (E202, E330, E127,
E220) citrus peel), butter, sugar, flour, free-range
eggs, ground almonds, 5% cider brandy, lemon zest
and juice, spices, splash of Vodka.
Marzipan: Sugar, almonds, glucose syrup, water, invert sugar
syrup, humectant (E420), preservative (E202).
Icing: icing sugar, water, Meri-white meringue powder,
food colours. Crunchy sugar: confectioner’s glaze,
carnauba wax, food colours*.
Fondant: sugar, glucose syrup, water, vegetable oil, glycerine, emulsifier (E471), acetic acid and sodium acetate, stabiliser (gum tragacanth), flavouring.
*We use natural and naturally derived colours
whenever possible (carmine, carotene, beetroot extract,
red cabbage blue, paprika, carbon and caramelised
sugar), but your fruit cake may contain up to five of the
following: E129, E131, E124, E104, E110, E133, E155,
E153, E102, E422 and E551 which may have an adverse
effect on activity and attention in children.
Allergy advice: Contains nuts, wheat gluten, sulphates, eggs and milk.
How long do they last?
Our Mini fruit cakes have a minimum shelf life of one month. If you’re not sure, please check the best before date – it’s stamped on the underside of each cake tin. Store in a cool dry place.
